Rubicon is seeking a Sr. I&E Engineer supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Geismar.
Summary As the Sr. I&E Engineer, you'll manage the maintenance program for all electrical and instrumentation equipment on site.
Serve as a subject matter expert to electricians and/or instrument technicians, ensuring quality repairs.
Ensure adherence to Rubicon Maintenance Policies & Procedures and industry best‑practice standards (e.g., NFPA, ISA, IEC, NETA) for all equipment repairs.
Maintain knowledge of site control systems (DCS, PLC, communications, fire protection, vibration monitoring).
Maintain electrical system coordination study and initiate corrective action (ETAP).
Ensure effective training for electricians and instrument technicians.
Lead E&I maintenance activities and monitor costs.
Develop electrical safe‑work practices for site employees.
Monitor preventive maintenance activities on all electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Manage five‑year preventive maintenance program for electrical distribution systems.
Recommend instrumentation equipment to resolve reliability issues.
Identify and propose projects to improve equipment reliability or reduce maintenance expenses.
Maintain proper spare‑parts inventory for all electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Ensure site process safety through consistent repairs of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation equipment to restore normal operation.
Serve as a maintenance SME in electrical and instrumentation procedures.
Provide input for electrical and instrumentation modifications at the site.
Monitor updates to equipment files in all software suites.
Collaborate with safety for root‑cause analysis of electrical and instrumentation incidents.
Qualifications Minimum qualifications for initial consideration:
Minimum of five years of industry experience.
B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
Unrestricted right to work for Rubicon in the United States.
Know How
Leadership ability with people skills and clear communication.
High mechanical aptitude and comprehensive knowledge of electrical and instrumentation equipment, materials, chemicals, and processes common at Rubicon.
Working knowledge of Rubicon maintenance and safety policies/procedures and General Specifications.
Proficiency with Rubicon’s software business system and equipment databases.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret P&ID, electrical one‑lines, and instrument drawings.
In-depth knowledge of installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair procedures for all types of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Familiarity with major equipment manufacturers, technical support staff, and vendors for rapid assistance.
