Welcome to Dungarvin Support Living, formerly known as Aacres. We specialize in providing in‑home supports to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The Program Coordinator/Lead DSP position provides the first level of oversight and leadership to specific home locations and the Direct Support Professionals providing services in those homes. The Program Coordinator is responsible for creating an environment for our staff and the individuals we support to achieve maximum possible growth.
Job Description The Program Coordinator (PC) is a leader and caregiver who provides direct support while guiding and encouraging staff. You’ll ensure each individual’s goals and daily routines are supported with dignity and respect, and you’ll create a safe, positive, and engaging home environment where everyone can thrive.
Wage:
$21.85 per hour (range $21.60 – $24.35 per hour)
Shift:
Sunday – Thursday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of assigned home(s), including client care (dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, etc.), documentation, and cleanliness.
Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
Work with schedulers to ensure proper staffing is in place based on the individuals’ contracts.
Ensure homes are personalized and reflect the interests and tastes of the clients, reviewing the home daily for health and safety concerns.
Assist with implementation of and maintain ongoing knowledge of all individual support plans and protocols within assigned home locations.
Provide on‑site coaching, encouragement, and continuous training for DSP staff to ensure the highest level of support.
Assist with development and tracking of meaningful goals for each client. Monitor goal data to ensure documentation occurs at the expected frequency and communicate any needed changes to the Program Director.
Establish professional supportive relationships with DSP staff to create employee engagement and a culture of appreciation.
Assist in staff retraining and coaching as identified.
Provide transportation and assist the individual(s) in the community with appointments, shopping, and personal outings.
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license required.
2 years of caregiving experience required (experience with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred).
High school diploma or GED required.
21 years or older.
Strong multitasking and problem‑solving skills.
Good communication is key; you’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with internal and external team members.
Patience, resilience, and an uplifting personality that helps set a positive tone in the home.
Ability to remain calm in challenging situations while encouraging growth and independence.
