Responsibilities

Perform vaccine management activities for federal and state vaccine program providers, including review, process, and finalization of provider vaccine orders, inventory reports, vaccine wastage, returns, and transfers via federal and state agency software applications.

Assist providers regarding the return or waste of non‑viable vaccine and share best‑practice prevention measures to eliminate wastage and minimize monetary loss.

Exercise independent judgment to process and approve provider vaccine orders, including requesting overdue or missing information or adjusting requested amounts based on ordering trends.

Review vaccine storage unit temperature monitoring reports submitted with vaccine orders to determine if storage and handling events have occurred within vaccine storage units; and, if so, determine the level and severity, escalating as needed to the Vaccine Manager.

Coordinate vaccine orders, vaccine payment authorizations, and non‑viable vaccine returns for the Fee for Service (FFS) vaccine program.

Deliver ongoing technical assistance and education for vaccine providers on all aspects of vaccine program management based on current federal and state guidance.

Perform vaccine management data collection functions via the statewide immunization registry (SIMON) to generate data reports that aid vaccine program quality assurance activities conducted by the Vaccine Manager.

Triage, follow‑up, and resolve reported Storage and Handling incidents among enrolled vaccine providers.

Attend and participate in scheduled trainings, workshops, in‑services, meetings, and disseminate information as appropriate.

Qualifications

A high school diploma and relevant program experience.

A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

Two (2) or more years of experience with software applications related to managing data for Immunization systems.

Two (2) or more years of experience in public health/public administration related work within state/federal government.

Additional Agency Requirements Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Applicants indicating college credit or degree(s) on the application may upload an unofficial copy of the transcript as an attachment to the application. The agency will require an official, certified copy of the transcript or diploma prior to hiring.

Driving Record If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10‑year driving record.
