Required License/Registration/Certification Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional License or active compact state RN license in good standing, and American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date.
Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds daily and 25-50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, and sit for long periods. Exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments may occur.
Shift WEPP Nights, must be able to work two 12‑hour shifts 7p‑7:30a every Friday/Saturday or every Saturday/Sunday.
Job Summary Provide total, comprehensive, continuous, patient‑centered care including assessment, documentation, planning, implementation, teaching, development, and evaluation of nursing plans. Deliver direct patient care, ensure satisfaction, train and delegate duties to Nursing Care Technicians, and adhere to university policies and regulations while collaborating with nursing staff and physicians to enhance patient outcomes.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Knowledge of Maslow’s eight Basic Human Needs, Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns framework, and Swanson’s Caring model; superb direct patient care and critical thinking; basic computer navigation; professional communication with patients, families, co‑workers, and physicians; strong organization, prioritization, and delegation skills. Motivated, proactive, confident advocate for patients, thriving in team environments. Exceptional technical skills and ability to work independently.
Preferred Education / Experience BSN plus at least one year of RN experience.
