Teaching Assistant/Associate Professor – Honors College The Honors College at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a 12‑month, full‑time, non‑tenure‑track Teaching Assistant or Associate Professor position. Exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered for appointment at the Teaching Professor level.

Primary Purpose of Position The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, student engagement, and interdisciplinary learning. The successful candidate will design and deliver high‑impact learning experiences that foster intellectual curiosity, leadership, and global awareness among Honors students.

Responsibilities • Teach undergraduate courses, facilitate tutoring and supplemental instruction, and advise Honors students.

• Develop innovative interdisciplinary courses and explore emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital learning tools.

• Support broader academic initiatives, including undergraduate research, service‑learning, and professional development.

• Collaborate with Honors leadership, faculty across disciplines, and university partners to strengthen academic pathways and student readiness.

• Contribute to recruitment, retention, and student engagement efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.

At least three years of experience in teaching, academic advising, student mentoring, or curriculum development in a higher education setting.

Experience designing and implementing interdisciplinary or honors‑level courses.

Demonstrated commitment to student success, undergraduate research, leadership development, or high‑impact learning practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant field.

Experience working with high‑achieving, first‑generation, or diverse student populations in Honors or specialized academic programs.

Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines and engage in curriculum innovation and program development.
