Position: Registered Nurse

Job Type: Full‑Time / Non‑Exempt

Shift Details: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am (rotating night schedule)

Work Location: Crisis – Durham, NC

Salary/Hourly Wage: $36.00 – $39.00/hour

Retention Bonus: $12,000

Specialties / Licenses or Certifications:* Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse

State‑specific RN license

The Registered Nurse (RN) position oversees the medical, psychiatric, substance abuse, and nursing care for individuals served. The RN also serves as the clinical liaison for designated individuals until they are enrolled in another community facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Guest Care & Advocacy

Coordinates services with community health, mental health, and social service agencies.

Assists individuals with preparation and recording of the service‑planning process.

Conducts assessments and treatment plans.

Provides individual and family counseling.

Participates in development of educational curriculum.

Supervises and/or provides nursing treatment and monitoring, such as diabetes and blood pressure.

Responds to crisis calls for assessment and pertinent intervention.

Coordinates relationships with outside medical and nursing support services, including pharmacy and laboratory services.

Compliance & Risk Management

Administers medication as required by protocol.

Completes clinical documentation as required.

Stays abreast of all federal and state regulations, laws, and Recovery Innovations policies.

Adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as outlined in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to improve productivity, efficiency, recovery outcomes, and medical care.

Additional Duties

Performs other related duties assigned.

Job Requirements

Education / Licenses

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

Valid and current state‑specific Nursing license (Compact licensure preferred).

Experience

Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a behavioral health setting.

Skills

Knowledge of psychiatric medications and their indications, side effects, and interactions.

Basic computer skills.

Attention to detail.

Problem‑solving ability.

Assessment and treatment planning skills.

Verbal and written communication skills.

Effective listening skills.

Excellent documentation skills.

Trauma‑Informed Care experience preferred.

Bilingual preferred.

Must pass de‑escalation training as defined by state requirements.

Driving Requirements

If driving is required, must meet all Recovery Innovations driving policy requirements.

If not qualified to drive, a Non‑Driver Attestation form must be signed.

Miscellaneous Requirements

Applicant must be at least 18 years old, unless state regulations specify a different minimum.

Travel based on business needs.

Maintain confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.

Must pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing if applicable.

Must pass education verification.

Must obtain designated fingerprinting clearance where applicable.

Must pass a three‑year motor vehicle report if driving is required.

A Nursing Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process.

Physical Demands Work may involve close visual focus, repetitive wrist and hand motions, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and use of auditory senses.

Work Environment May work in an office or behavioral health facility, may have contact with agitated or confused individuals, and may travel across the region.
