Overview Charge/Float Registered Nurse position providing nursing coverage across multiple prison work farms: Bertie, Craven, Hyde Pasquotank, Roanoke River, and Tyrrell. Responsibilities include assessment, intervention, medication administration, emergency response, mental and dental care, chronic disease clinics, physical examinations, and supervision of staff.

Key Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care to offenders per standard practice and agency regulations.

Assess patients, assist physicians, carry out orders, plan and evaluate nursing care.

Respond to emergencies, facilitate mental and dental health services.

Prepare and administer medications, monitor for communicable diseases.

Conduct Chronic Disease Clinics and update physical examinations.

Educate patients and delegate or supervise subordinate staff as needed.

Qualifications Licensed Registered Nurse in North Carolina with at least one year of nursing experience. Knowledge in professional nursing theory, techniques, and practices is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $59,732 - $98,557. Full-time (40 hours per week) with State benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, paid vacation and sick leave, paid parental leave, and NCFlex program.
