Job Summary
The Warehouse team is seeking a
Warehouse Lead
in our Freight Department to assist with the coordination, monitoring, and leadership of the daily operations of the Warehouse department.
Shift Details 1st shift – 6:00am to 2:30pm 2nd shift – 2:00pm to 10:30pm (with a $1.00 differential)
Responsibilities
Prioritize assigned department team’s daily work assignments by reviewing and analyzing reports; delegate work assignments to team members based on individual skill level and business demands; monitor email for updated reports; reprioritize work as new reports are generated and reassign team members throughout the shift as needed
Monitor and supervise assigned team ensuring all employees are working safely and efficiently while staying on task
Research and resolve any discrepancies found on reports, BOLs, etc.
Train new and existing team members on company and departmental policies and procedures, including safety protocols; enforce all company policies, procedures, and protocols
Train new and existing team members on different functions of the work area to ensure all are able to perform all tasks properly; share knowledge and best practices to help aid efficiency and productivity
Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all processes and responsibilities of assigned work area
Fill in as necessary for any Warehouse team members; perform daily work during down time
Participate in daily shift meetings to share any pertinent information or issues between shifts, promoting interaction and communication between all three shifts and related departments
Assist in resolving employee concerns and conflict; inform supervisor of any incidents; counsel employees on performance as necessary; maintain confidentiality and respect privacy and sensitive information in regard to all employee matters
Perform all job functions in compliance with safety guidelines and company policies/procedures
Work a full‑time schedule; work overtime as business demands including extended hours and/or weekends
Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition, clean and maintain equipment
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Strong problem solving, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to communicate work instructions and feedback in a simple and respectful manner
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and a positive attitude
A high degree of attention required to prevent accidents and injuries
A high degree of attention for shortages, delays, work stoppages, and other issues that lead to downtime or efficiency loss
Dependable, with an excellent attendance record
Flexible to work weekends and overtime, as required
Have an excellent attendance record with no disciplinary action
Able to read, write, and understand verbal and written work orders/instructions in English
Possess basic math, measuring, and computer skills
A high degree of attention and detail required to prevent accidents, injuries, and quality issues
