THE POSITION The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs is seeking hardworking and caring people who are dedicated to taking care of our residents. The Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home offers veterans and their spouses superior care.
A Licensed Practical Nurse committed to providing amazing resident care will perform duties in planning, implementing, and evaluating all assigned resident care in collaboration with a Registered Nurse, ensuring adherence to HIPAA standards.
Work Hours and Additional Information
Full‑time employment; 12.5 hours per day, 75 hours per pay period
Position available Nights (6:45 PM – 7:45 AM)
Rotating schedule: Week 1: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday; Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday
Telework: Not available
Salary: Starting at $67,560.00 for new employees in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
DMVA Nursing Referral Program: potential payments up to $4,000 for referring employees and candidates
Qualifications
Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania
If holding a temporary practice permit, must obtain licensure within one year
PA residency requirement currently waived
Eligible to apply within 60 days of completing a nursing program
Must show proof of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or licensed nurse license at appointment
Must be able to perform essential job functions
Legal Requirements
Conditional offer may require medical examination
Fall under Older Adult Protective Services Act; require criminal history clearance (PA State Police, FBI)
