Job Summary The Registered Nurse provides patient‑centered nursing care for admissions, transfers, and ongoing care of cardiac stepdown patients in a 24‑hour, 4‑bed unit. Duties include comprehensive assessment, documentation, medication administration, patient and family education, and coordination with the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive nursing assessment and reassessment, including age‑appropriate admission or transfer assessments.
Accurately document findings, nursing plans, and patient status changes in the medical record.
Administer and document medications and IV therapies per policy and procedure.
Coordinate and execute the plan of care, including nursing interventions and education for the patient and family.
Communicate effectively with the health‑team and provide accurate hand‑off reports.
Monitor, evaluate, and document effectiveness of care and patient/family education.
Identify and address patient risks, including pain, restraints, infection control, and abuse assessment.
Adhere to safety and infection control policies, including hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment.
Participate in continuous quality improvement, unit‑based goals, and shared governance activities.
Serve as a resource for new staff and students, providing education and supervision as needed.
Requirements
Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience in cardiac stepdown or related patient care preferred.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a fast‑paced environment.
Employment Details
Shift: Day Shift
Hours: 24 hours per week (part‑time)
Type: Employee (Full‑time equivalent)
