We have an immediate opening for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our Fairfax, Virginia office. The schedule is Monday-Friday 6:00AM to 3:00PM with one to two holidays per year and an occasionally weekend.
How You’ll Contribute: We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Assistant is responsible for:
Responsibilities include:
High volume of phlebotomy
Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
Assists with theclinical care of fertility patients
Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
Provides patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicates physician orders and instructions
Provides pre and post op education
Perform semen washes and sets up for IUIs
Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients’ families
Works independently to assure the program goals are achieved
Support and promote excellence in customer service
What You’ll Bring: The skills and education we need are:
Strong phlebotomy skills required
High School diploma; Associates degree preferred
Completion of a formal MA program
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required
Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology
