We are seeking a Per Diem OR/PACU Medical Assistant to join our Fairfax, Virginia. The schedule is per diem as needed for weekends Saturday and Sunday's 6a-2:30 or 3p Eastern Time.
How You'll Contribute: We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Medical Assistant is responsible for:
Assisting as scrub technician in the OR
Proper sterile and aseptic technique and setup/use of equipment
Preparing rooms for all procedures while ensuring necessary instruments, supplies and equipment are available
Technical skill in the care and use of instruments, supplies and equipment used during a surgical procedure
Proper sanitary maintenance of equipment according to OSHA guidelines
Using autoclave and clean per protocol
Providing ultrasound guidance under physician’s supervision during transfers
Comforting patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, providing support
What You'll Bring: The skills and education we need are:
Must have completed formal MA education/certification
Prior experience in an OR/Ambulatory Surgical setting
Experience in women's health (e.g., OB/GYN) is required
Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
Infertility/IVF experience is preferred
Phlebotomy skills are preferred
Professionalism and strong customer service skills a must
