Overview The Patient Safety Sitter works under RN supervision to ensure patient safety, observe behavior changes, and provide diversion activities in a behavioral health setting.
Responsibilities
Responsible for patient safety under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
Observe patient status for changes in behavior and report all observations to the RN.
Provide a safe environment and identify safety risks to reduce them.
Apply appropriate interventions: observe, redirect, provide diversional activities.
Work in isolation precautions situations when required.
Promote positive patient and team interactions by reinforcing HMH core beliefs and standards.
Maintain patient confidentiality, privacy, and dignity.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent program in progress.
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within 60 days of hire.
Compensation Minimum rate of $17.12 per hour.
Benefits Health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits are offered for full‑time and part‑time positions (20+ hours per week).
