PATIENT SAFETY SITTER - BEHAVIORAL HEALTH - PER DIEM - DAY
Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy, New Jersey, is hiring a Patient Safety Sitter to support our behavioral health team on a per diem basis. The role involves working closely with registered nurses to ensure a safe, peaceful environment for patients in behavioral health units.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the safety of patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
Observe patient status for changes in behavior and report all observations to the Registered Nurse.
Ensure patient safety by providing a safe environment, observing the patient's surroundings for safety risks, and taking necessary steps to reduce the risk.
Apply appropriate interventions such as observation, redirect, and diversional activities.
Work in situations with isolation precautions.
Promote positive patient and team interactions by supporting HMH core beliefs and standards of care.
Maintain patient confidentiality, privacy, and dignity.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or equivalent program required (or in progress).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within 60 days of hire.
Compensation Minimum rate of $17.12 hourly.
