Ochsner Health invites applications for this 8‑week, on‑site assignment. The role involves leading patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The RN will delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members, maintain quality patient outcomes, and support the company’s nursing philosophy.
Responsibilities
Use the nursing process to deliver patient care.
Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
Embrace behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and nursing improvement.
Adapt communication style to respect patient privacy and cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education
– Registered nurse diploma required.
Work Experience
– 1 year as a Registered Nurse. Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
Certifications
– Current RN license in the state of practice; Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Certification in a clinical specialty area preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications.
Ability to demonstrate good judgment.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Physical and Environmental Demands Work may involve exerting 50‑100 pounds of force occasionally or 25‑50 pounds frequently. Tasks include moving objects, manual patient handling, and exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues. Occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications/waste exists.
