Base pay range $37.40/hr - $59.84/hr

Overview Perform ultrasound examinations that include 3D & 4D imaging across multiple modalities, such as high‑risk gynecological and obstetric exams, infertility studies, and complex ultrasound‑guided biopsies. This position offers a $7,500 sign‑on bonus (available for external hires only; certain conditions apply).

Responsibilities

Select equipment and imaging modalities; prepare position to facilitate optimum diagnostic studies.

Operate ultrasonography equipment to perform examination; evaluate accuracy and quality of scan results.

Review patient record for prior findings/test results to aid in determining exam completeness.

Select and record preliminary study results; prepare preliminary reports using department‑specific structured reporting system.

Takes measurements and labels them.

Gather and communicate ultrasound findings to the physician for interpretation.

Consult with Radiologist about unusual scans and need for re‑scanning.

Perform transducer decontamination and maintain log entries, reporting any discrepancies to the Education Coordinator.

Perform duties associated with interventional (biopsy) procedures.

Modify billing fields to reflect the exam being performed.

Instruct and oversee students, residents, and physician staff in unit's operations.

Maintain ultrasonography equipment; recognize malfunctions and/or need for servicing; ensure quality control procedures are maintained and maintain orderliness of ultrasound laboratory.

Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited program for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and registry eligible required.

Minimum one (1) year of experience performing a wide range of general and specialty ultrasound exams preferred.

Experience in high‑risk OB, advanced abdominal imaging, complex infertility, and guided biopsies preferred.

Possesses a broad knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy, pathology and/or physiological data.

Competent in ultrasound reporting systems.

Required Licensure / Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required within 30 days of hire date.

Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – Abdomen (RDMS‑AB) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – Obstetrics & Gynecology (RDMS‑OBGYN) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – Breast (RDMS‑BR) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – Fetal Echocardiography (RDMS‑FE) or (RDMS‑PS) or Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS).
