Responsibilities The Maintenance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and controlling all maintenance and reliability‑related activities that support production, warehousing, quality, sanitation, building maintenance and plant design and layout. The role builds a maintenance reliability program, understanding resource allocation, cost, people leadership and preventative maintenance model development. The individual must have proven abilities in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and project management.
Manages the reliability workforce, develops succession plans, skills assessments and training.
Assures safe operation of ammonia refrigeration systems, boiler systems and other equipment.
Ensures compliance with air, water, sewage, or other pollutant standards per federal, state and local regulations.
Supervises and directs maintenance staff on safe operations, enforcing LOTO, Food Defense, Food Safety & Quality Plans, GMPs, HACCP program.
Coordinates use of TPM root‑cause analysis tools to identify breakdown causes and implement preventive measures.
Leads equipment trouble‑shouting on complex machinery and develops technicians to own the process.
Identifies, tracks and reports all relevant maintenance KPIs.
Supervises planning and scheduling of work via the CMMS PM and work order modules.
Leads deployment of the planning and scheduling workflow to a sustainable process with stakeholder support.
Uses methods and metrics to increase reliability of components, equipment and processes.
Develops and controls the maintenance budget to optimize spending for capacity and asset reliability.
Supports operations in creating an accident‑ and injury‑free work environment through leadership by example.
Ensures maintenance and reliability standards comply with applicable regulations and Eagle quality standards.
Continuously improves operations by adopting new technologies, performing cost analysis, and implementing sustainable best practices.
Performs detailed reliability studies and calculations under the Director of Operations.
Conducts root‑cause analysis during design or remedial action to prevent failures.
Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations and reports to define reliability problems and recommend improvements.
Provides expert support during process automation and deployment of maintenance standards.
Plans and performs engineering research, design development, or manufacturing/process engineering assignments.
Develops and leads projects to implement TPM practices, reliability structure design and growth initiatives.
Leads maintenance replacement capital project planning and execution.
Maintains positive relationships with associates and ensures proper training.
Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
10–14 years of operations management, including 3–5 years in maintenance & reliability management.
7–10 years of people management and procedural development.
Demonstrated experience with CMMS.
Strong project management skills.
TPM certification a plus.
Strong mechanical/electrical knowledge and aptitude.
Proficient in managing maintenance resources, personnel, tools and budget.
Ability to analyze complex maintenance issues, identify root causes and implement solutions.
Experience in Lean or Six Sigma continuous improvement techniques.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
