Project Manager PMO Supporting Treasury and Michigan Gaming Control Board This position is for a Senior Project Manager (PM3) to assist the State of Michigan Project Management Office supporting Michigan Department of Treasury with a multi‑year high‑priority project. The role is part of the DTMB Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) and works closely with DTMB Agency Services technical teams as well as agency executives and stakeholders in delivering Treasury’s City Tax Modernization. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast‑paced, multi‑vendor deployment supporting a hybrid workforce (on‑site and remote) at all organizational levels. Applicants should possess exceptional communication and follow‑up skills along with significant experience in formal IT project management. The PM will work in person two days a week and remotely three days.

Senior ERP Systems Integration Project Manager

Oracle/SAP ERP experience; global ERP project management leading a 20+ member team with over $750M+ budget.

Project Management Office leadership and governance.

Oversee technical teams with system architecture and integration across SaaS solutions.

Developed and maintained detailed project integration schedules over 5,000+ lines.

Prior developer/senior technical project management experience.

Basic Duties

Utilize the State of Michigan’s Project Portfolio Management Tool (Clarity) to prepare project schedules, assign resources, and manage budgets.

Prepare information for presentations to executives, managers, and project team members.

Monitor, control, and communicate project progress—cost, schedule, scope, resources, quality, and risks—to stakeholders.

Maintain clear, timely, and accurate communication with project sponsors, team members, program managers, and MGCB/DTMB management.

Provide leadership and foster collaborative participation between technical and business teams, obtaining consensus and commitment.

Develop and maintain SUITE Project Management Methodology (PMM) deliverables: Project Charter, Project Schedule, Project Budget, Communication Plan, Project Status Report, Risk & Issue Management Plans, Change Requests, Project Close‑down Summary.

Manage interfaces and communication with other agencies.

Ensure the project adheres to the SUITE PMM and System Engineering Methodology (SEM) through all lifecycle stages and phases.

Facilitate and enforce the Change Management process; ensure all Change Requests receive appropriate approval before action.

Create Corrective Action Plans (CAP) when necessary for projects in yellow or red status.

Understand project benefits and the impact of change requests on business cases; update related artifacts accordingly.

Review and manage vendor contracts to actively oversee vendor deliverables and adherence to the approval procedure.

Facilitate stakeholder interactions by clarifying expectations and ensuring deliverables are assigned, reviewed, and completed.

Qualifications Required Experience

10+ years in IT project management, including industry standard practices.

7+ years formal project manager experience delivering projects on time and on budget.

7+ years experience establishing and maintaining project budgets, schedules, change requests, risk and issue logs.

7+ years experience developing and delivering project status reports.

7+ years experience using a project portfolio management system such as Clarity.

5+ years advanced working knowledge of MSProject.

5+ years experience handling stakeholders and system owners from multiple departments.

5+ years overseeing technical teams with system architecture and integration across SaaS solutions.

5+ years experience providing project management services for IT projects involving commercial off‑the‑shelf technology (COTS).

5+ years managing a multi‑vendor environment in a government context.

5+ years developing and maintaining detailed project integration schedules over 5,000+ lines.

5+ years prior developer/senior technical project management experience.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Highly Desired Experience

3+ years of relevant experience.
