Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our Toronto distribution center operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of goods, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and fostering a high‑performing team. This is a key leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to operational excellence. This position includes a comprehensive, multi‑stage training program designed to ensure your success. This role may require an initial comprehensive training at our facility in Glendale Heights, IL, USA with company paid expenses provided. Following this training, the position will be permanently based in Mississauga, ON L5T 2X3.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, coach, mentor, and motivate a team of warehouse associates, ensuring productivity, safety, and adherence to schedules.
Delegate tasks effectively and ensure proper task completion.
Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate professional development for team members.
Resolve personnel, equipment, and workflow issues in a timely and effective manner.
Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee all warehouse activities including receiving, storing, picking, packing, loading, and shipping of products and materials.
Ensure accurate handling and movement of products and materials, maintaining inventory integrity.
Coordinate with other departments (e.g., logistics, customer service, sales) to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues.
Monitor and optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to improve efficiency.
Ensure all warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) is working properly and arrange for maintenance as needed.
Implement and maintain robust inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies and losses.
Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
Ensure compliance with inbound and outbound processes, including FIFO standards.
Maintain and enforce strict security and safety protocols throughout the distribution center.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and relevant industry regulations (e.g., health and safety, food safety, if applicable).
Train team members on safety procedures, equipment operation, and best practices.
Complete shift reports and documentation (e.g., incidents, disciplinary reports) accurately and promptly.
Identify process bottlenecks and implement improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Proactively address and resolve operational challenges.
Contribute to the development and implementation of new warehouse policies and procedures.
Requirements:
3-5 years of previous experience in a warehouse supervisory role
Strong organizational and communication skills
Working knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of inventory systems and RF scanners is an asset
