About This Opportunity Hill Brothers Transportation is seeking an experienced
Operations Manager
to lead and develop our Fleet Manager team. This critical leadership role focuses on performance management, accountability, and ensuring consistent execution across our fleet operations. You'll partner closely with our Lead Fleet Manager – Driver Operations to balance strategic oversight with real-time operational needs, while coaching your team to deliver exceptional results for both drivers and customers.

What You'll Do Team Leadership & Development
Provide direct leadership and supervision to Fleet Managers, ensuring clarity of expectations and accountability
Conduct regular coaching sessions, performance reviews, and corrective actions to support continuous improvement
Support individual development and career growth for team members
Lead or participate in operations meetings, providing insights on team performance and departmental needs
Support new hire onboarding and training for Fleet Managers, ensuring they're properly equipped for success
Performance Management & Accountability
Review operational reports and performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
Implement action plans with Fleet Managers to address performance gaps and enhance results
Hold responsibility for driver performance-related administrative documentation, including performance histories and follow-up actions
Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures across the fleet
Use metrics to measure effectiveness of implemented programs and initiatives
Operational Oversight & Process Improvement
Oversee daily workflow and ensure Fleet Managers follow established processes for communication, dispatch, documentation, and system usage
Review and refine operational processes to improve efficiency, driver satisfaction, and customer performance
Design, develop, implement, and maintain business solutions to improve performance
Work cross-functionally with Load Planners, Customer Service, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve escalated issues
Ensure compliance with company safety standards, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures
Collaboration & Strategic Partnership
Partner closely with the Lead Fleet Manager to stay aligned on real-time operational challenges and driver needs
Coordinate with HR on personnel actions including hiring, evaluations, recognition, and disciplinary procedures
Communicate requirements to senior management regarding resources and support needed for operational success
Collaborate effectively across operations areas to deliver results
Requirements What We’re Looking For Required Experience & Education
Proven leadership experience managing supervisors or dispatch-level leaders within truckload or fleet operations
Strong understanding of fleet management, driver operations, and trucking industry best practices
Experience conducting performance reviews and managing accountability
Technical Skills
Computer Proficiency:
Advanced skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook
TMS Experience:
Experience with TMW Suite helpful
Software Applications:
Proficient in relevant operational and safety technology systems

Frequent computer use and phone communication
Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs
