WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Read and understand part drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements to check part dimensions and tolerances
Set up and use inspection gauges for production checks
Inspect parts using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) guidelines
Perform incoming (receiving) inspections to ensure materials meet purchase order and specification requirements
Operate a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to check part features such as alignment and location; create simple programs when needed
Inspect tooling and fixtures and keep accurate inspection and calibration records
Visually inspect parts and materials for surface defects such as cracks, dents, burrs, or poor welds
Verify assemblies are complete by comparing parts to drawings, parts lists, or sample models
Measure parts using standard inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators
Identify, document, and reject non-conforming parts, and work with the Quality Supervisor to resolve quality issues
WHAT EXPERIENCE YOU NEED: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with minimum 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
