Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Parking Operations Manager, the Parking Operations Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of staff from garages, enforcement, meter repair/collections, and main office. The supervisor oversees the parking staff within his/her area of responsibility, plans, organizes and supervises their work, establishes procedures, and expedites tasks. Work frequently demands the making of independent decisions.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Supervise employees providing maintenance, enforcement, meter repair/collections, and cashiering services.
Oversee and monitor garage operations, including maintenance of all garages and enforcement within garages.
Coordinate special tasks or events and collaborate with other departments, ensuring appropriate event signage is printed, installed, and setup.
Provide management with reports on citations, officer productivity, appeal results, etc.
Investigate and respond to complaints about enforcement officers, signs, areas, and unsafe conditions, in person, by phone, or by correspondence.
Review documentation and provide input for determination of citation appeals.
Provide testimony in court regarding parking violations and appeals.
Issue citations for violations of City Code.
Track meters and parts sent to other locations for repairs.
Review invoices and recommend payment.
Oversee the collection of money, counting of coin and currency, and preparation of bank deposits.
Input collection data and prepare reports.
Assist in processing payroll.
Provide input on hiring, evaluation, promotion, and termination of employees; make related recommendations with weight.
Maintain inventory and order supplies and parts as needed.
Perform revenue control activities including monetary audits, cash handling, account reconciliation, and overages/shortages tracking.
Collect data and prepare management reports on cashiering operations including revenue and statistical reports.
Create staff schedules, assign work, and assure adequate coverage.
Assist with traffic control in and around public parking garages.
Represent the City positively and professionally with colleagues and clients, irrespective of gender, race, religion, age, disability, political affiliation, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with work colleagues, supervisors and managers.
Perform related work as required.
Education and Experience Required : High School Diploma or GED, plus two (2) years of experience in parking operations. Certified by the State of Florida as a Parking Enforcement Specialist.
Preferred : Associate’s Degree, plus four (4) years of experience in parking operations.
Additional education and experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the above requirements.

State of Florida Certified Parking Enforcement Specialist
Valid Driver’s License with proof of automobile insurance
Background Check: Acceptable background record required
Driving Abstract: Acceptable driving record required
Examination Process The examination may consist of one or more of the following tests: written examination, performance examination, education and experience evaluation, oral examination, and/or other job related examinations. Timing and location of the examination will be notified upon filing. A passing grade is required on each part. Repeated participation in any examination for which the same test is used is limited to once every six months.
Additional Information Following an initial review, successful applicants will be invited to upload required documentation via our screening platform. All successful applicants must pass a background check, driving history, credit report, courthouse searches, education verification, employment verification, professional license verification, or other search methods as required. Applicants will also undergo a medical examination, which may include drug screening.
Employment of relatives is subject to City’s ordinance. Relatives may be hired only after competing in an appropriate examination process and placing on the civil service eligibility list.
