Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a registered nurse with stepdown ICU experience to contribute to patient care in a dynamic acute care hospital setting located in Saint Matthews, SC. This contract position offers night shifts with three 12-hour shifts per week, allowing for focused, uninterrupted care delivery. The role involves caring for patients in a stepdown unit requiring critical cardiac telemetry skills and familiarity with electronic health records. Location: Saint Matthews, SC, is a welcoming small town providing a close-knit community atmosphere with convenient access to larger metropolitan areas. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a stepdown ICU unit, maintaining a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio Utilize Epic electronic health records for accurate documentation Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and neurological status using NIHSS protocols Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and respond to changes in patient conditions Adapt to floating assignments within like units or sister facilities as needed Support unit operations including weekend shifts on an every-other-week schedule Qualifications: Current RN license in South Carolina or Compact License active before start date Minimum of 1 year nursing experience, with 2 years preferred, especially in cardiac telemetry or stepdown ICU BLS and NIHSS certification required; ACLS and CPI certification preferred Experience with Epic electronic medical records system and telemetry nursing competency Previous charge nurse experience and community hospital experience preferred Schedule & Hours: Night shifts, 3 x 12-hour shifts, 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. Weekend requirement every other weekend On-call not required Benefits & Perks: No-cost parking on site Opportunity to gain experience in a well-equipped acute care hospital setting with a dedicated team Supportive work environment with clearly defined nurse-to-patient ratios This contract opportunity is ideal for registered nurses ready to utilize their stepdown ICU skills in a supportive team and community environment.
