Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A nursing opportunity is available in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) within a community teaching hospital setting located in Waxhaw, NC. This contract position supports the care of infants aged 32 weeks and above who require specialized attention in a 7-bed NICU unit. Responsibilities include providing high-quality nursing care with a focus on stabilization and support of newborns, many of whom are growers and feeders or on bubble CPAP. Nurses will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, respiratory therapists, neonatologists, lactation consultants, and more. The unit utilizes advanced technology such as EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips patient monitors. Nurses can expect patient ratios of 1:2, occasionally 1:3, depending on staffing levels. Key qualifications and desired experience include: Active RN licensure with minimum 1 year NICU experience Current BLS and NRP certifications Strong NRP skills with comfort in stabilizing neonates Ability to work well in a team and participate in departmental orientation and 2 days of precepted shifts Schedules involve 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a) on a 6-week cycle with weekend rotations and voluntary holiday shifts. There is no on-call requirement for travelers. Scrubs and free parking are provided for your convenience.
