Provide specialized nursing care in a busy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located in Pineville, NC. This contract role offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team caring for neonates born at 32 weeks and older, focusing on stabilization and ongoing care for infants requiring advanced support. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Minimum of 1 year of NICU nursing experience Current RN license with BLS and NRP certifications Strong skills in Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP) Comfortable stabilizing premature and medically complex newborns Experience with bubble CPAPs and grower/feeder patient care preferred Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary care teams Responsibilities: Provide high-quality nursing care to neonates, maintaining RN-to-patient ratios typically at 1:2, sometimes 1:3 Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, case managers, and lactation consultants Utilize advanced medical technology, including Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and EPIC electronic medical records Participate in unit orientation and ongoing training, including a two-day precepted shift period Adhere to scheduling that includes a 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM shift cycle, with weekend rotation and optional holiday coverage Coordinate care under the guidance of charge nurses and support staff to ensure positive patient outcomes Location Insights:Pineville, North Carolina, offers a friendly community atmosphere with access to urban amenities nearby.
