Key Responsibilities: Deliver attentive nursing care for patients requiring neuro and trauma management Perform neuro and spinal checks, manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, and feeding tube placements Monitor C-collar placement, TLSO braces, lumbar drains, and administer blood transfusions Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain optimal patient ratios and care standards Adhere to unit dress code (navy blue scrubs) and participate in weekend rotations every other weekend as required Utilize Cerner EMR system for documentation and communication Qualifications and Desired Experience: Active RN licensure with current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications is mandatory Experience in neuro and trauma care preferred Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain patient-centered focus Comfortable in fast-paced stepdown or med-surg units with patient ratios typically ranging from 4:1 to 5:1 Additional Information:This 44-bed unit has a highly skilled staff with consistent team structures across day and night shifts. Equipment used regularly includes IV pumps, Skylift devices, PCA pumps, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and patient lifts to assist with complex patient needs.
