Deliver expert nursing care in a progressive care environment focused on patients requiring neuro and trauma interventions. This contract position involves working in a Stepdown unit with a specialized focus on neurological and trauma care within a dynamic hospital setting. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit Perform neuro and spinal assessments including C-Collar placements and TLSO brace management Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, Lumber drains, feeding tubes, and blood transfusions Utilize advanced equipment such as IV pumps, Skylift patient lifts, and Cerner EMR systems Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to maintain patient ratios of 4:1 standard and 5:1 stretched Maintain adherence to unit policies and uphold best practices in patient safety and care standards Qualifications and Desired Experience: Valid RN license with proven Stepdown nursing experience Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are mandatory Neuro and trauma care experience is required and highly valued Ability to work as a patient-focused team player with strong communication skills Comfortable with floating to stepdown and med-surg units as needed Schedule: Every other weekend coverage required Day and night shifts with specific staffing grids in place Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs This contract assignment provides an excellent opportunity to enhance your specialty nursing skills in a well-equipped, supportive environment while enjoying the unique benefits of Asheville living. xsgimln If you have the required certifications and a passion for neuro and trauma care, submit your application to connect with this challenging and rewarding role.
