A dynamic nursing opportunity is available for experienced RNs specializing in Stepdown care, focused on neuro and trauma patients. This contract role offers a chance to apply advanced clinical skills in a progressive care environment, supporting patients requiring intermediate monitoring and complex interventions. Location: Candler, NC is a serene town offering a balance of small-town charm and access to outdoor activities, making it an ideal setting for professionals seeking both career growth and quality of life. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care on the Progressive Care Unit, managing 44 beds with a focus on neuro and trauma cases. Perform neuro and spinal checks, manage C-Collar placement and TLSO braces. Operate complex equipment such as IV pumps, PCA pumps, chest tubes, and patient lifts. Administer blood transfusions, infusions, and assist with feeding tube placements and lumbar drains. Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR systems. Collaborate as a team player, ensuring patient-focused care delivery. Qualifications and Experience: Current RN license with experience in stepdown or progressive care units. Mandatory certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Proven neuro and trauma care skills strongly preferred. Ability to manage patient ratios typically at 4:1 or 5:1 (when stretched). Skilled in the use of advanced nursing equipment and technology. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Shift Details: Every other weekend coverage including day and night shifts. Dress code: Navy blue scrubs.
