Director of Pharmacy – Critical Illness & Rehabilitation Services - Travel Position (with $7,500 Completion Bonus)
Location: Memphis, TN
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 Nights
Pay: $3,352/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Job Summary The Director of Pharmacy oversees all pharmacy operations within a critical illness and rehabilitation facility, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant medication management. This leadership role involves strategic planning, regulatory compliance, staff development, and collaboration with clinical teams to optimize acute and post-acute care settings.
Key Responsibilities
Direct and manage all pharmacy services for critical care and rehabilitation units.
Develop and implement policies for medication safety, storage, and administration.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and facility protocols.
Oversee formulary management, cost containment strategies, and medication utilization reviews.
Lead and mentor pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to support clinical care plans.
Monitor and report on pharmacy performance metrics, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety outcomes.
Manage budget, inventory, and vendor relationships for pharmacy operations.
Stay current with advancements in pharmacotherapy for critical illness and rehabilitation populations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited program.
Licensure: Current pharmacist license in [State].
Experience: Minimum 5 years of pharmacy experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. Experience in critical care, rehabilitation, or hospital pharmacy strongly preferred.
Certifications: Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or Critical Care Pharmacy (BCCCP) – Preferred.
Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy for critically ill and rehab patients; Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills; Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and electronic health records; Ability to manage budgets and drive cost-effective strategies.
