Junior Underwriter
Base pay range: $18.00/hr - $20.00/hr
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite). Contract: 12+ months with long‑term potential.
Key Responsibilities
Interview loan applicants to elicit information; investigate backgrounds and verify references; prepare loan request papers; and forward findings, reports, and documents to the appraisal department.
Review loan papers to ensure completeness; complete transactions between loan establishment, borrowers, and sellers upon approval of loan.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Analytical Skills – 2 years.
Credit and Risk Assessment Knowledge – 2 years.
Regulatory Compliance Knowledge – 2 years.
Credit reports, Income Verification/Tax returns, Communication tools: Outlook, Slack, Click to chat.
Experience – 2 years of underwriting experience (preferred).
Problem‑Solving and Decision‑Making: critical thinking, sound judgment, effective problem‑solving under pressure.
Communication Skills: strong verbal and written communication; interact with loan officers, processors, and internal stakeholders.
Attention to Detail and Accuracy: meticulous review of loan applications.
Regulatory Knowledge: familiarity with lending regulations and compliance guidelines.
