About the Role Redhorse Corporation seeks a highly skilled Personnel Security Policy Specialist to provide critical Personnel Vetting support to the Counterintelligence Law Enforcement & Security (CL&S) Directorate within the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Intelligence and Security (OUSW(I&S)) at the Pentagon. The role directly impacts the security of the Department of War (DoW) by developing, implementing, and overseeing personnel vetting policies and processes. You will safeguard national security by ensuring the integrity of the DoD's personnel vetting system.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, revise, review, communicate and coordinate policies pertaining to personnel vetting, including background investigations, adjudications and continuous evaluation of individuals under DoW cognizance.
Coordinate approximately 100 policy memorandums/DoW issuances annually, ensuring grammatical and typographical accuracy.
Support strategies, initiatives and oversight to improve personnel security processes and performance, including reviewing and evaluating personnel vetting IT systems.
Organize, plan and execute ~10 personnel vetting projects annually, leading or participating in DoW working groups.
Manage or support logistical and administrative aspects of engagements (~5 per month) and develop read‑ahead packages.
Conduct staff actions (up to 100 annually), including Correspondence and Task Management System administration.
Recommend policy changes (~50 papers annually) in writing or orally based on oversight assessments.
Coordinate within CL&S to ensure cross‑functional integration of key security policy issues and mitigate threats.
Advise the Director Integrated Vetting and other senior DoW leadership on potential issues affecting DoW personnel and security policy.
Conduct research on laws, regulations, Executive Orders, Federal and DoW policies, producing research papers and briefing materials.
Required Experience / Clearance
Active TS/SCI Clearance.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
10 years of demonstrated knowledge of national and DoD information security policies and procedures.
5 years of experience developing and coordinating policies for OSW JCS or Military Department headquarters staff related to personnel vetting.
Proficiency with Trusted Workforce 2.0.
Desired Experience
Security Professional Education Department (SPED) certification.
Experience with artificial intelligence platforms, Microsoft Office and Microsoft SharePoint.
