The Infrastructure Operations organization at Amazon is seeking Data Center Technicians to support AWS Data Center Operations. The role focuses on hardware and network diagnostics, physical repair, and on‑call rotation. Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of technical issues brought by the customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution.
Demonstrate strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
Resolve problems at their root and understand broader context.
Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
Act decisively in absence of direction or support.
Improve effectiveness through process innovation.
Lifting and racking equipment up to 40 pounds.
Work shift schedules that include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience, or a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.
3+ years of operations and on‑call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities.
3+ years of experience with networking or computer hardware; knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Linux systems administration and/or development.
Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies.
4+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or deploying and optimizing Microsoft Windows Server and Linux OS and network troubleshooting.
