Responsibilities
Enter, maintain, and review bi‑weekly payroll for U.S. and Canada, ensuring accurate processing of salaries, benefits, garnishments, and taxes.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local wage and hour laws.
Manage payroll state and provincial tax notices, registrations, audits, and payments.
Assist the accounting department with GL alignment and code creation.
Respond to payroll inquiries from employees regarding pay, deductions, and tax withholdings.
Assist with payroll tax reporting, including quarterly and year‑end filings.
Track expat payments and short‑term disability employee payments.
Resolve payroll issues via email or phone with the appropriate HRIS representative.
Prepare Employer Shared Responsibility reporting.
Organize, update, and maintain HRIS and other personnel information systems.
Maintain electronic personnel files and process personnel action change forms with proper approvals.
Schedule interviews, arrange travel logistics, and create travel itineraries for candidates and employees.
Support employee engagement programs and participate in HR audits and census questionnaires.
Prepare competency and credentialing letters for new hires and existing employees.
Maintain KPI reporting for recruiting and hiring.
Handle project and presentation work as assigned.
Apply strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills to all tasks.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in multi‑state payroll (10 or more states) and general HR functions.
Strong knowledge of compliance, taxes, and reporting across the United States and Canada.
Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and time‑management skills, with a professional integrity and sense of responsibility.
Work Environment Office setting with temperature control. Occasional travel (0–10 %). Sedentary work involving data analysis and computer use. Requires close visual acuity and ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
