PFG Manufacturing
Position Purpose
Responsible for performing routine financial tasks, including managing financial records, preparing financial statements like balance sheets and income statements, tracking transactions, ensuring accuracy of accounting data, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards, typically by following generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) while reporting to a senior accountant or accounting manager. This role will handle the organization's basic financial activities in order to maintain accurate financial records and provide essential financial reporting.
Major Functional Responsibilities
Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
Prepare financial statements and reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
Manage accounts payable (invoices and payments to vendors) and accounts receivable (invoicing and collections from customers), ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and post journal entries to record financial transactions, adjustments, and accruals.
Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper documentation.
Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial data and analysis to support decision‑making.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
Previous experience in accounting or finance roles.
Proficiency with accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
Familiarity with ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning) is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues.
In‑depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.Awareness of internal controls and best practices in accounting.
