Senior Staff Accountant – Ultimate Staffing
We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our client’s team in California. This role involves managing accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. The position offers an opportunity to work closely with the accounting team and contribute to the company’s financial success.
Base pay range $32.00/hr - $35.00/hr
Responsibilities
Initiate, review, and approve biweekly payroll on ADP, troubleshooting issues and conducting random audits as needed.
Manage accounts receivable by confirming AP & AR imports, pulling reports, sending statements, and applying customer payments.
Monitor and process sales and use tax returns on website, including making online payments.
Record daily financial transactions and prepare adjusting and general ledger entries.
Perform regular reconciliations of bank and credit card statements to ensure data integrity.
Assist in preparing accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and analyses.
Gather information and prepare various tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws.
Provide financial data and analysis to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
Analyze current accounting procedures and recommend changes to develop best practices.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Qualifications
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, and NetSuite.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong understanding of GAAP and knowledge of financial reporting and tax regulations.
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
Effective communication skills.
Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with more than 5 years of experience in the accounting field.
Required Work Hours Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
