Alpha School offers you the opportunity to design an AI‑enhanced, scalable literacy program capable of producing more measurable gains in 2 hours than traditional schools achieve in an entire day. You'll develop adaptive workshop models, examine live student performance data, and partner with engineering teams to create literacy solutions that extend your influence to hundreds of learners.
What You Will Be Doing
Facilitating adaptive reading workshops focused on building core competencies in phonics, fluency, and comprehension
Creating individualized motivational strategies that resonate with children and foster a lasting commitment to reading
Reviewing student performance metrics to iteratively improve instruction and generate meaningful insights
Working alongside the technology team to assess and refine AI‑powered literacy platforms
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree plus advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent)
Minimum 2 years of experience conducting small‑group reading interventions with early elementary students
Capable of evaluating reading levels, organizing student groups, and creating differentiated instruction independent of pre-packaged curricula
Comfortable using AI/adaptive learning platforms and adjusting instruction based on student interaction patterns
Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship
Available to work on-site at one of our locations: Chantilly (Washington), VA; Lake Forest (Orange County), CA; San Francisco, CA; Miami, FL; or New York City, NY

Working with Us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
