Since 2009, the mobile movie van has provided free outdoor movies in underserved neighborhoods across all five boroughs. The van is equipped with a state‑of‑the‑art $40K audio/video system, a 14’ × 8’ small screen, and a 20’ × 11’ inflatable screen. Employees may also be required to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Major Responsibilities
Travel to and from the garage to various parks across the five boroughs. Assist with the set‑up and breakdown of the movie screen and audio equipment. Work closely with parks managers and the borough coordinator to ensure that movie showings are professionally implemented. Assist with light maintenance and ensure that movie locations are safe and feasible. Maintain accurate records such as the daily vehicle trip ticket, van inventory, and program sign‑in sheets. Maintain the mobile unit; keep the van neat and organized. Keep inventory of equipment and update city‑wide and borough coordinators on repairs needed and supply replacements. Qualification Requirements
A four‑year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and either
two summer seasons (or six months) of experience as an instructor, counselor, or coach in an organized recreational program; or completion of sixty credits toward a baccalaureate degree in an accredited college; or
Education and/or experience equivalent to the description above. Preferred Skills/Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old.
