Job Details:
Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.
We are currently seeking candidates for our full time night shift openings.
Our team is recognized for their expertise and high priority on patient outcome. This is a specialized and unique unit with staff that provide complex medical care to both adult female patients and pediatric patients. We are one team with a multitude of specialized staff for each population. Our Women’s Medical Surgical Population consist of any female patient with a medical or surgical diagnosis, over age 18. We have specialized staff and a focus on patient populations for antepartum medical diagnosis, postpartum readmissions with medical diagnoses, GYN patients, and some postpartum mothers. Our Pediatric staff care for patients from ages 8 hours old to 17 years old, with medical surgical diagnoses. In addition to a dedicated Charge Nurse, Lead Pediatric Nurse, Pediatric Hospitalist, Pediatric Intervention RN and Child Life Specialist on our unit, we also have a Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist and Case Manager that work solely within our Women and Children’s Division. Our support staff also consist of Multi Skilled Technicians that are trained for both populations on the unit. There is an opportunity for nurses to be cross trained to deal with both populations as job advancement.

Pre/ Post Surgical or Procedural Patients
GYN Medical or Procedural Patients
Antepartum Medical Diagnosis
Postpartum Readmissions with Medical Diagnosis
Post-Partum NICU Mother patients
Pediatric Medical Surgical Patients, aged 8 hours to 17 years old with diagnoses that include but are not limited to:
Asthma
Respiratory Illness
Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
Pre/Post surgical care, such as orthopedic and ENT procedures
Diabetes
Infection
Neonatal Sepsis
Eating disorders
Behavioral Health

Specialized training provided in PALS and Certified Breastfeeding Counselor (CBC) course

Salary Details Hourly rate is determined by years of worked experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $32.50, max of salary range is $51.00. In addition to hourly rate, if candidate holds an approved certification position qualifies for certification pay of $1.50.
Required Qualifications
Require Pediatric Advanced Life Support within three (3) months of hire for all RNs or six (6) months to nine (9) months for new graduates and must maintain throughout employment.
Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires as of 2023, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) required within five (5) years of hire date.
Require Certified Breastfeeding Counselor within six (6) months of hire, hospital grant funded.
Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
