Join Sarasota Memorial Health Care System as a Pre-Operative Registered Nurse. The role provides professional nursing care to surgical patients in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with ANA standards of practice. Job Description
Pre-Op Job Summary: Establish criteria for admission, preoperative preparation, and assessment of surgical patients prior to procedure and ensure patient safety. Responsibilities include starting and monitoring IVs, administering pre-operative medications, and performing pre-operative instruction. Workdays / Shift / Start Time
Full-time: Monday – Friday, 05:30 – 14:00. Positions Available
Full-time, Part-time, and PRN positions are available. Required Qualifications
BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within six months of hire and must be maintained throughout employment. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within 5 years of hire for ASN candidates. Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications. Graduate of an accredited nursing school or diploma program. Successful completion of Annual Orthopedic Education Requirements upon hire and annually thereafter. Preferred Qualifications
Certification in a nursing specialty area. Additional nursing certifications. Salary Details
Hourly rate ranges from $32.50 to $51.10, determined by experience, education level, and internal equity. Additional certification pay of $1.50 per hour is provided if applicable. Opportunities To Grow And Training
