About the Director of Communications Assistant Role A successful Communications Assistant is someone ready to serve a diverse, active collection of more than 1,000 businesses looking to create, manage and distribute content across a wide range of media. The Assistant will support Chamber events, producing media such as video and pictures. The Assistant will implement the Chamber’s social media strategy. They will represent the Chamber and its membership at third party functions as needed and will support their peers in various Chamber activities.

Primary / Essential Job Duties:

Collect, coordinate and schedule Chamber Social Media from members, Chamber Staff and Community Partners.

Create, update, and schedule weekly Chamber Email Newsletters.

Support Chamber departments by attending and documenting events with pictures, video and audio.

Support Communications department with Graphic Design.

Edit Audio and Video.

Record Podcast episodes of the Chamber Inside Business Podcast.

Skills & Requirements for a Successful Candidate

Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and transportation.

Ability and willingness to present to groups or individuals.

Flexible scheduling based on Chamber events and programs.

Ability to utilize Adobe products for video and photo editing.

Ability to utilize Canva for graphic design

Ability to use Microsoft Office software to create presentations, spreadsheets, communications and other documents.

Professional demeaner to meet, engage and build relationships with members and prospective members.

Prompt and thorough communicator that responds quickly to inquiries and requests via any medium.

Understanding of Chamber departments and services to effectively connect members to staff and resources as needed.

Dress Code

Dress Code for this position is business casual, with special events that require business attire.
