About the Position:
The Physical Therapist performs duties and services in an outpatient setting. Performs a full range of physician extender and physical therapy patient care to include comprehensive evaluations of patients using screening and diagnostic testing and associated administrative duties. This position is located at Womack Army Medical Center, Directorate of Surgery, Physical Medicine and Rehab division, Fort Bragg, NC.

Duties
Provide physical therapy care in support of physical disabilities and neuro‑musculoskeletal dysfunctions in patients of all ages.
Perform comprehensive neurological and musculoskeletal evaluations of patients referred to the department.
Prepare treatment plans based upon physical and mental condition determined in consult.
Instruct patients and their families on home programs to complement treatment.
Re‑evaluate patient’s level of function periodically to determine if treatment goals are being achieved.
Document care provided in the patient’s automated health record.
Order radiology studies and routine laboratory appointments as needed.
Requirements
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re‑verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
All applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
This position is subject to a pre‑employment screening, and random drug testing, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on‑duty accident.
This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
This position requires the completion of a pre‑employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
Applicants must be able to fulfill non‑privileged professional credential requirements.
Must possess and maintain a current, active, valid and unrestricted Physical Therapist license from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth territory, or jurisdiction in accordance with Office of Personnel Management (OPM) standards.
This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
