We’re looking for a Patient Service Representative to support flow at our Jonesboro Neurosurgery Clinic. The role is based in the St. Bernards Healthcare system.
Job Summary Patient Service Representatives serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing assistance with registration, insurance information, and clinic policies. The role requires independent decision‑making, a professional image, and strong interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
Greet patients and complete the efficient registration process.
Collect accurate patient and insurance information and explain clinic policies.
Answer telephone calls and address billing questions.
Process medical record requests and patient account functions.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Make frequent decisions based on general procedures and interact with patients, families, visitors, and clinic personnel.
Maintain a positive first impression of clinic personnel.
Maintain attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications
Minimum one‑year experience in customer service, preferably two months as a receptionist in a healthcare setting.
Experience with office equipment and excellent judgement.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
Diplomacy and professional demeanor in dealing with patients and staff.
Physical Requirements
Work in a normal office environment; close eye work with vision corrected to 20/20.
Normal hearing of soft tones.
Ability to sit 7–8 hours per day, stand, walk, and use fingers for handling tools.
Hand‑eye coordination and finger dexterity required.
Reach with hands and arms; lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
May be exposed to airborne particles.
Ability to view computer screens for long periods; occasional stress related to workload and customers.
