Patient Account Rep – Clopton Clinic Business Office

Job Summary The Patient Account Representative is responsible for accurate and timely collection of claims to third‑party payers and patients, coding and entering charges, posting payments, arranging payment plans, providing cost estimates, and updating patient accounts. They must respond promptly to inquiries from both payers and patients and maintain high contact with patients, employees, physicians, and community members. Attendance and meeting deadlines are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Collect and process insurance claims and patient payments.
Code and enter charges accurately.
Post payments and reconcile accounts.
Arrange payment plans and provide cost estimates.
Respond to payer and patient inquiries in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate patient account information and documentation.
Qualifications
High school graduate required.
Minimum of one year of billing experience in a health care setting preferred.
Business training considered if no prior billing experience.
Minimum of one year of computer data‑entry experience.
Ability to work under deadline pressure.
Excellent communication skills with all ages, especially geriatric population.
Physical Requirements
Normal office environment; close eye work required, vision corrected to 20/20.
Normal hearing, capable of hearing soft tones.
Sitting for 7–8 hours/day; required to stand, walk, use fingers to handle objects.
Hand‑eye coordination and finger dexterity required; reach with hands and arms.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
May be exposed to airborne particles.
Must view computer screens for long periods; occasional stress related to workload and customer issues.
