CLINICAL COUNSELOR – California Men's Colony (CMC)
Salary: $7,294.00 – $10,378.00 per month.

Responsibilities Under the general direction of the Sr. Psychologist and Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I, the Clinical Counselor works in Mental Health Services. The Clinical Counselor applies counseling interventions and psychotherapeutic techniques within the scope of applicable Business and Professions Code(s) and license, to improve an incarcerated individual’s mental health and the effectiveness of preventative skills and behaviors developed for wellness. The Clinical Counselor works preventatively with the incarcerated population, including those not in the mental health delivery system, to provide patient access, outreach, and prevention wellness strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid California Clinical Counselor license.
Minimum education requirements as specified in the Classification Specification.
Verification of foreign credentials if applicable.
Background investigation and TB testing.
Desirable Qualifications
Willingness to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Valid Associate Clinical Counselor license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science.
