Dental Dispensary Technician I (Dental Care I) University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus – Department: Dental Clinic Support Services.

Job Summary Key responsibilities include instrument sterilization, maintenance, and inventory management; providing support to dental clinical units and students; and maintaining quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Instrument sterilization and decontamination per established protocols.

Inspect, test, and maintain sterilization equipment and clinical instruments.

Prepare and manage specialized instrument set‑ups for faculty, students, and residents.

Maintain accurate inventory, sterilization, and testing records using computer systems or barcode scanners.

Provide guidance and support to students, faculty, and staff regarding instrument use and sterilization.

Operate all sterilization equipment (steam sterilizers, biological incubators, heat sealers, washer‑disinfectors).

Issue and track instruments to clinical units; document check‑outs and troubleshoot issues.

Stock supplies necessary for clinical patient care.

Conduct audits and inspections of sterilization, infection control, and patient equipment.

Coordinate quality assurance and maintain evidence of compliance.

Work Location Onsite, Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

One (1) year of dental assisting experience.

Accredited dental assisting program may substitute for the year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Valid CPR and/or BLS certification.

Experience with dental instrument terminology.

Experience with sterilization and dispensing of dental instruments.

Clinical area preparation experience.

Experience working with students and faculty in an academic or medical setting.
