About the Position We are looking for an outgoing, friendly, customer service driven individual to fill an open Customer Service Specialist (Dispatcher) position at our Dispatch Center in Plainview.

In a team atmosphere, you will communicate with customers; schedule, dispatch and communicate with bus operators to help people of all ages and abilities get safely to places in and around their communities such as school, work or clinic; and complete documentation and other administrative responsibilities.

This full-time position is 40 hours per week. Work hours fall within 5:15 a.m.–6:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, and rotating Saturday hours 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Starting pay is $20.40 per hour.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

One year of professional office experience and/or the demonstrated ability to:

Proficiently use a computer

Answer multi-line phone system

Ability to pass a required background study, as defined by the position

Current, valid driver’s license in good standing, as defined by the agency’s insurance provider (unless explicitly approved otherwise by the supervisor)

Current, valid personal automobile insurance (unless explicitly approved otherwise by the supervisor)

Experience with a multi-line phone system

Exceptional, courteous and effective communication skills with a commitment to outstanding customer service

Ability to read and navigate a map

Ability to read, write and speak the English language

Ability to multi-task, manage projects and thrive in a disruptive, high-stress and fast-paced environment

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

Fluency in one or more languages other than English, especially Spanish or Somali

1-2 years of post-high school education

Functional Requirements

Daily use of a computer and standard office equipment in an office-based setting

Occasional bending, squatting, or reaching during routine tasks

Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 20 lbs.
