Duties

Operate machine tools

Perform routine replacement and repair of plumbing and steamfitting

Cut, weld, and brazes a variety of metal materials and equipment

Perform semiskilled carpentry activities

Operate and maintain heating and hot water equipment

Assist in repairing and maintaining locks

Perform semiskilled masonry repairs and installation activities

Repair, rebuild, and assist in installing roofs

Assist in painting and decorating work, performing interior and exterior painting

Carry out routine tasks of the electrical trade, including repairing electrical equipment

Perform other job‑related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trade worker, or completion of an appropriate two‑year technical school course

Read and understand written and oral instructions

Valid New York State driver’s license

Computer literacy (preferred)

Skilled in one or more trades (preferred)

Background Investigation Requirements

Staff Exclusion List (SEL) check for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect

Criminal Background Check (CBC) including state and federal criminal history record checks

Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR) check

Fingerprinting for criminal history information

May require payment of applicable fees
