Job Description Requisition # 2026-175102 Shift: Day Status: Per Diem
As a Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health, you will provide nursing practices based on the most up-to-date evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care. Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health.
Perform age- and disease-specific assessment independently.
Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes.
Identify educational needs for patients and families.
Develop and coordinate a patient/family-centered plan of care.
Communicate and coordinate care with the health care team.
Implement age and disease-specific care in an organized, timely manner.
Provide or coordinate patient/family education as needed.
Adhere to established protocols, document events, and provide nursing care and treatments reflecting patient needs.
Perform continuous point-of-care electronic documentation of assessments, plans, interventions, and evaluations.
Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
Coordinate multidisciplinary discharge planning.
Evaluate progress toward outcomes.
Utilize critical thinking skills to achieve desired patient outcomes.
Initiate interventions related to changes in patient condition.
Identify ethical issues and communicate them to the team.
Respond to opportunities to enhance patient satisfaction.
Maintain competencies, certifications, and continuing education.
Adhere to the American Nurses Association Code for Nurses.
Lift a minimum of 35 lbs., push or pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand a minimum of 6 hours a day.
Adhere to HMH’s organizational and managerial competencies and standards of behavior.
Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
BSN in progress or willingness to obtain within three (3) years of hire.
New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse License.
AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BHP) Certification.
Compensation Minimum hourly rate of $44.24. Pay is determined based on market data, experience, education, skills, location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Performance‑based incentives, bonuses, shift differentials, and other benefits may also apply.
