Student Support Aide to join our growing team at Project Success. Project Success is a youth development nonprofit organization that helps students connect to their purpose. Student Support Aides provide one-on-one assistance to students who may need additional support as they build critical life and career skills through the Project Success Certificate classes. They assist in areas as directed by the student to help them learn safely and enjoy their experience. This independent contractor role supports Monday and Tuesday evening classes from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, running January 12 – March 27, 2026. There is a possibility of contract renewal based on program needs.

Our ideal candidate has experience working with people with disabilities, an ability to build and nurture trusting relationships, and is consistent, dependable, and reliable. They are able to respond to individual needs with care and have strong communication skills.

CONTRACT RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide one-on-one support to high school students with a variety of special needs

Work with students to improve personal skills and reinforce classroom learning

Develop and sustain relationships with students enrolled in Institute Certificate programming

Collaborate with Project Success staff, contractors, and volunteers to create an environment that is welcoming and accessible to students with special needs

Escalate any student behavior issues to the Senior Program Manager – Institute to ensure physical and emotional safety and respect to students, staff, volunteers, and contractors

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

High school degree or GED required

1+ years of experience working directly with young people with special need

Experience working with young people from a variety of backgrounds

Ability to build and nurture trusting relationships with young people and staff from a variety of backgrounds

Consistent, dependable, and reliable

Strong communication, listening, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Adaptable, flexible, and able to step in as needs evolve

A commitment to Mission, Vision, and Values of Project Success

Must be able to pass a background check

Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, including movement throughout a classroom environment

POSITION DETAILS This is an independent contractor position supporting Bike Tech (Mondays) and Budget-Friendly Cooking (Tuesdays) certificate classes each week throughout the winter semester. Classes take place from 4:30 – 6:30 PM at the Project Success office. Contractors are asked to arrive 30 minutes before class and stay 30 minutes after, for a total of 3 hours of support. Specific details regarding scheduling will be discussed during the interview process.

$25 per hour

Evening hours from 4:00 –7:00 PM

There is an opportunity to renew contracts based on program needs.

Winter Semester : January 12, 2026 – March 27, 2026

Spring Semester : April 6, 2026 – June 10, 2026
