Postdoctoral positions in Cancer Metabolism – Hoxhaj Lab

A postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated research fellow in the laboratory of

Dr. Gerta Hoxhaj

at

the Children’s Medical Center Research Institute (CRI)

at

UT Southwestern Medical Center , Dallas, USA.

The Hoxhaj Laboratory studies fundamental mechanisms of cellular metabolism, with a particular focus on nucleotide and redox metabolism and their roles in cancer and physiology. More information about the laboratory can be found here: [Please click the Apply button for the link or email]

The Hoxhaj Lab brings together enthusiastic scientists from diverse backgrounds and fosters a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment. Since its establishment in 2019, the laboratory has published several high-impact studies, including:

An atlas of purine metabolism across tissues and tumors , Cell, 2024

Mitochondrial NADP(H) as an essential source for proline biosynthesis and redox control , Nature Metabolism, 2021

Redefining mitochondrial NADPH function in fatty acid biosynthesis and oxidative metabolism , Nature Cell Biology, 2025

Structural discovery of regulatory control modes of NAD kinases , Molecular Cell, 2022; Science Advances, 2025

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have a strong background in one or more of the following areas: molecular biology, cancer biology, mouse genetics, metabolism, cell biology, or biochemistry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate scientific independence, creativity, and flexibility, along with a strong record of productivity. Prior experience with mouse models, cancer metabolism, or functional genomics is strongly preferred.
